31st International Congress of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICC)

The 31st ICC, held jointly with the Gulf Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases (GCCMID), will take place in Dubai from 6-9 November 2019.
Abstract submission opens on 7 March 2019 at which point applications for travel grants will also open.

Hamao Umezawa Memorial Award 2019

We are delighted to announce that Professor John Turnidge will receive ISAC's highest and most prestigious award, the Hamao Umezawa Memorial Award (HUMA).
The HUMA award will be presented during the 31st ICC – 4th GCCMID at which Professor Turnidge will present a lecture on In Vitro Veritas - Susceptibility Testing in the 21st Century.

ISAC Working Group Updates

Following a review of ISAC’s Working Groups, some were amalgamated to form a smaller number of larger, stronger groups. The following Working Groups have now been merged:
- Antimicrobials of the Future merged with Anti-Infective Pharmacology
- Controlling Antimicrobial Resistance and Collateral Effects of Anti-Infectives merged with Antimicrobial Stewardship
- Antiseptics merged with Infection Prevention & Control
In addition, a new Working Group on Rapid Diagnostics & Biomarkers, chaired by Kordo Saaed, has been formed. For more information on ISAC's Working Groups, visit the website.
