ISAC is pleased to announce the winners of the ISAC 2022 Awards which were presented during the 32nd International Congress of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICC) in Perth, Australia.
Hamao Umezawa Memorial Award (HUMA)

The HUMA is the highest award given by ISAC for exceptional contributions in the field of antimicrobial chemotherapy. It is generously sponsored by the Microbial Chemistry Research Foundation of Japan.
The 2022 awardee is Professor Robin Patel who presented the HUMA lecture on "Microbial Theranostics – A Resistance Combatting Strategy" during the 32nd ICC.
Prof. Patel is the Elizabeth P. and Robert E. Allen Professor of Individualized Medicine and the Director of the Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic.

Honorary Membership
|
ISAC Honorary Membership is conferred upon persons who have brought outstanding contributions to antimicrobial chemotherapy.
The 2022 awardee is Professor Paul Anath Tambyah for his excellent leadership of the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection. Professor Paul Ananth Tambyah is currently a Senior Consultant in the Division of Infectious Diseases, National University Hospital, Professor of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine & Honorary Joint Professor at CBmE.

Meritorious Membership
ISAC Meritorious Membership is conferred upon persons who have extraordinarily contributed to and supported the aims of ISAC. In 2022, ISAC Meritorious Membership was awarded to ISAC Executive Committee members coming to the end of their terms of office.

Young Investigator Travel Awards

ISAC Travel Awards were awarded to young investigators from ISAC Member Societies who submitted a high-scoring abstract for the 32nd ICC.

ICC Travel Awards were awarded to young investigators from Australia / New Zealand who submitted a high-scoring abstract for the 32nd ICC.

- Daniel Knight (University Of Western Australia)
- Renee Ng (The University of Western Australia, Wal-Yan Respiratory Research Centre)
All travel grant awardees presented their abstracts at the Early Career Workshop during the ICC. Renee Ng received an additional award for the best oral presentation at the workshop.
