ISAC is delighted to support two webinars on the different drivers of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in conflict settings and what can be done to address the issue, organised by the Fleming Initiative. The Arabic language session will take place tomorrow, 28 May at 14.00 BST.
ISAC President, Prof. Souha Kanj (American University of Beirut Medical Centre), will moderate this session.
Prolonged conflicts around the world have devastated health systems and left millions without access to adequate health care, shelter, and clean water and sanitation. This has created environments where drug-resistant infections can thrive.
Expert speakers will particularly emphasise the recently published npj Antimicrobials and Resistance research article ‘Unravelling the linkages between conflict and antimicrobial resistance’, but will draw from a range of other work.
