ISAC's Living Legends in Infectious Diseases podcast
Living Legends in Infectious Diseases is a new podcast series from the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC) celebrating the individuals whose work has shaped modern infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, diagnostics and infection prevention and control.
Each episode offers a window into the challenges, motivations and defining moments that shaped these leaders’ journeys—and continue to shape the future of global health.
Episode Four
Ian Gould speaks with Professor Kurt Naber — urologist, antimicrobial-research pioneer and former ISAC President — about a career defined by international collaboration and scientific leadership. He reflects on renal lymph antibiotic research, building global UTI networks, partnerships across Europe, Asia and Latin America, and guiding major congresses. Alongside his medical work, he spent many years contributing to cultural, social and musical initiatives in Straubing — a career with influence across both professional and community spheres.
