It is only a few weeks since the recent International Congress of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICC) in Dubai when I received the honour of becoming President of ISAC, following on from Po-Ren Hsueh. I would like to take this opportunity to, once again, thank Po-Ren for the outstanding job he did as ISAC President. Over the last few years, we changed the structure and goals of ISAC and I look forward to continuing these changes, together with Geoff Coombs – President-Elect – and a strong team of Trustees and Executive Committee members.
