ISAC AbxGuide

In collaboration with Radboud University Medical Centre (Radboudumc) in the Netherlands and the American University of Beirut Medical Centre (AUBMC) in Lebanon, ISAC has developed an open-access online antimicrobial treatment guideline for global use: the ISAC AbxGuide.

The AbxGuide is designed to provide clear, evidence-based guidance on antibiotic treatment for common infectious diseases in an easy-to-use, modular format that can be adapted to different healthcare settings. Its main aim is to help address gaps that lead to inappropriate antibiotic use, particularly in low-resource environments.

Content is developed to be as broadly applicable as possible, drawing on evidence-based medicine, including clinical studies and international guidelines. Where appropriate, pragmatic priority lists are used to rank alternative treatment options. Directed treatment advice for major bacterial infectious diseases and resistance phenotypes is presented through a free-access, interactive online platform: the ISAC AbxGuide.

Webinars

To launch the AbxGuide, a series of six webinars were held. You can now watch the on-demand recordings.

These webinars explore the relevance of the AbxGuide and the development process behind its treatment recommendations. They highlight its application across different geographic regions and feature speakers who present related projects and initiatives. Join the conversation with experts and stakeholders in the field and help advance global health through informed antibiotic stewardship.
