Speaker bio
Prof. Levy Hara graduated from the School of Medicine at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and did his post-graduate residency in Infectious Diseases at the Hospital Francisco Muñiz in Buenos Aires. He is currently Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit at the Hospital Carlos G Durand in Buenos Aires as well as Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
He was the Chair of International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC) Antimicrobial Stewardship Working Group from 2009- 2018 and is an active Member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics.
He is an International Consultant for antimicrobial projects for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO). From 2016-2020 he was a Member of the WHO experts groups on Health workers’ education and training on antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial consumption and antimicrobial stewardship. He is also an International Consultant for Consejo de Ministros de Salud de Centroamérica y República Dominicana (COMISCA).
