Challenges and Perspectives on MDR Infections in Critically Ill Patients
23 June 2026 @ 14.00 - 16.00 CET
ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Critically Ill Patients (ESGCIP) / ISAC Working Group on Infections in the ICU and Sepsis
This joint webinar will explore key challenges in managing multidrug‑resistant (MDR) infections in critically ill patients. Topics include antimicrobial stewardship in both high‑ and low‑antimicrobial resistance settings, optimisation of antimicrobial pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics using therapeutic drug monitoring, continuous infusion and nebulized antibiotics, and effective infection prevention and control strategies for MDR pathogens.
Programme
• Matteo Bassetti (Italy): Implementation of AMS in high AMR prevalence settings
• Christian Eckmann (Germany): Implementation of AMS in low AMR prevalence settings
• Sonia Luque (Spain): Optimisation of antimicrobial PK/PD in MDR infections (TDM, continuous infusion, nebulized antibiotics)
• Emine Alp Mese (Turkiye): Infection prevention and control strategies for MDR pathogens
