Call for members

ISAC is looking for members to join and help establish its newest Working Group dedicated to the study and promotion of medical microbiology diagnostic laboratory provision.

A Working Group of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC) is a group of professionally active clinicians / scientists / investigators who organise themselves under the auspices of ISAC with the objective of studying a defined area within clinical microbiology and / or infectious diseases in line with ISAC’s aims and objectives. ISAC supports its Working Groups financially in accordance with its statutes.

Many members of ISAC are responsible for delivering microbiology laboratory services and do this in diverse settings. As such, this Working Group aims to bring together a wide range of experiences / expertise to develop a range of activities including but not limited to:

• Development of good practice guidelines and consensus publications.
• Creation of training material, including digital resources, on-line and face-to-face courses, workshops and summer schools.
• Surveys of practice and outcomes.
• Support of research projects in laboratory capacity building and practice.
• Political lobbying and public information campaigns to raise the profile of laboratories and their importance in antimicrobial resistance control.
• Contribute to ISAC’s major international conference, the International Conference of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICC).
