Executive Committee

We are delighted to announce Professor Geoff Coombs as the new President of ISAC!

Prof. Coombs is the Chair of Public Health at the School of Veterinary and Life Sciences, Murdoch University and the Senior Clinical Scientist for PathWest Laboratory Medicine, Western Australia, Fiona Stanley Hospital. He has served on has served on ISAC’s Executive Committee since 2013.

Prof. Coombs will build upon the success of previous ISAC President, Prof. Andreas Voss, in helping ISAC achieve its aims of increasing knowledge of antimicrobial chemotherapy and tackling antibiotic resistance around the world.

We would like to thank Prof. Voss for his strong leadership and wisdom over the last three years, which were some of ISAC's most challenging and productive years throughout the pandemic.

In accordance with the ISAC constitution, elected members of the Executive Committee nominate and select new Directors from within the committee. 
We welcome Prof. Souha Kanj to the Board of Directors as ISAC President-Elect and Prof. Heiman Wertheim as ISAC Treasurer. The new Board of Directors looks as follows:

This year, we received many nominations and the ISAC Directors had to compile a shortlist. The eight shortlisted candidates were all of an exceedingly high calibre. The final votes were very close and we are pleased to introduce the four new members of the Executive Committee who will play an important role in shaping the future of ISAC.
