This expert-led webinar offered practical insights into publishing high quality antimicrobial research. The session covered the latest developments in scientific publishing from Elsevier, guidance on publishing successfully in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents (IJAA) and editorial insights from the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance on what journals look for in strong submissions.
Programme highlights
Caroline Moors (Elsevier Executive Publisher) outlined the importance of research integrity, clear authorship and transparent AI use. She also outlined how Elsevier supports authors through ethics checks, reviewer tools, and APC waivers for eligible countries.
Prof. Jian Li (IJAA Editor-in-Chief) emphasised that IJAA prioritises novelty, rigor and a compelling scientific narrative. He urged authors to avoid plagiarism, craft clear and impactful stories, and ensure strong study design and interpretation.
Prof. Athanasios Tsakris (JGAR Editor-in-Chief) explained that JGAR values well-designed AMR research with transparent data, strong methodology and clear writing. He outlined that robust regional studies are welcome.

Prof. Marco Falcone (ISAC Executive Committee) and Andrea Hoogenkamp-O'Brien (Elsevier Senior Publishing Director) moderated the session.
